Hello! I have been on a journey to fight boredom eating, and while I am getting better, I still have nights where I (over) eat when I am clearly not hungry. It's getting demotivating to be able to abstain from eating most of the day, only to just have a vacuum mouth at the end of the night. I realize that most foods I go to satisfy my cravings are unhealthy (mostly ramen + cheese).
I do have "healthier" options, such as string cheese, turkey pepperoni, etc, but I never really thought of going to them. Would swapping to healthy snacks make it more bearable? I haven't been focuses on having a balanced meal, just skipping eating when I'm not hungry instead of "set" meal times + snacking like I've been doing most of my life.
I've found that eating smaller portions of the unhealthy foods satisfied my craving, but I just subconsciously go back for more anyways. I'm not sure if this is a matter of moderation issues, lack of proper nutrients, or both
