So I’ve always calculated my TDEE as “Sedentary” at the advice of weight loss forums even though I lift 5x per week and walk roughly 35 miles /week.
My question is, when you put “Moderately Active” is the formula accounting for the exercise you do? As in should you never add your exercise on top of that? Like is it saying since you work out a lot you probably burn about this much with exercise included?
Or does being “active” make that your baseline? Since you’re an active person you have a higher TDEE, and then whatever you do that day is now on top of that number? So if I walk 5 miles and lift I burn what my TDEE is for being an “active” person + another 700 or so calories?
