So after years of neglect I decided to actually start looking after my health and quit being overweight. I started at 216 and Since last September I’d been running a calorie deficit, mostly maintained via daily cardio.
I lost the first 20 lbs fairly easily in the 1st 2.5 months. Then another 8 in the next 1.5 months. For the last 2 months I’ve been stagnant at 187. I’ve added 3-4 resistance training days to my week, which has kept me from going above 190, but I’m still stagnant at about 187
The important bits:
Background-I’m a 16 y/o 187 lb 6’ 1” male, from my research, my ideal weight is 170-175.
I’d probably been lifting for about a year prior, but probably only made about 4-6 months worth of progress considering my extreme apathy towards nutrition.
I should add that my deficit for the past months has been between 800-1100 calories
So after 2 months of complete stagnation, I’ve been considering just starting clean bulking for a few months, and losing the extra 10-15 pounds of lingering fat once my metabolism and muscle mass has been raised.
Is the best course of action? Or should I opt for keto, daily resistance training, maybe something else?
Any advice is appreciated!
